High-Power Connectors Incorporate Advanced Safety Features
Now available from PEI-Genesis is a range of high-power industrial connectors that incorporate a number of advanced safety features to protect users. Manufactured by Anderson Power Products, the PowerMod HP connectors offer current ratings as high as 450A for appropriate applications and are primarily designed for connecting rechargeable battery packs to industrial equipment.
The connectors’ touch-safe female housings provide IP20 finger-proof protection to meet the requirements of the EN60950 safety standard, while a positive latching system – featuring distinctive blue buttons for clear identification – further improves both safety and ergonomics.
In addition, hexagonal mechanical keying on dual-pole versions provides six individual configurations to help prevent inadvertent mating of the wrong connectors. Equipped with silver-plated high-conductivity contacts that are rated for circuit interruption, these hot-pluggable connectors are available in straight, right-angle, panel-mount, blind-mate and bus-bar styles. All PowerMod HP housings are made from black UL94V-0 flame-retardant material, and the connectors can be used in ambient temperatures ranging from -40 to +85degC.
